  10.      UMS (Universal Message System) is a database system  specialized  in
  11.      the handling of mail and news messages. UMS RFC is a package for UMS
  12.      which allows you to receive and send mail and news messages with the
  13.      following protocols:

  15.         - UUCP (Unix to Unix CoPy)
  16.         - NNTP (Network News Transfer Protocol)
  17.         - POP3 (Post Office Protocol V3)
  18.         - SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)

  20.      Changes since UMS RFC 0.12:
  21.  
  22.         - New version scheme taken into use. Changes in the library
  23.           interface should be less error-prone now.
  24.         - Now all LFs are converted to CR-LF as required by the Message
  25.           Formats format, except for unbatched UUCP mail messages or
  26.           UUCP news messages. All tools convert CR-LF to LF before
  27.           importing the messages.
  28.         - SMTP extensions PIPELINING and 8BITMIME implemented.
  29.         - NNTP extensions XOVER and LIST OVERVIEW.FMT implemented
  30.           in the server. The clients now support the AUTHINFO USER/PASS
  31.           authentication extension.
  32.         - Implemented some support for TaylorUUCP in The UUCP tools.
  33.         - Added new tool umsrfcwrite for importing RFC messages.
  34.         - The variable muucp.dumbhost has been replaced with the
  35.           variable uucp.envelope. This might require a change to your
  36.           UMS configuration.
  37.         - The variables uucp.debug, uucp.debugfile and uucp.filtercr
  38.           have been removed.
  39.         - RFC times is now converted to local time.
  40.         - Several bug fixes.
